Healthcare Networks and Interoperability

Healthcare relies heavily on robust and secure network infrastructures to ensure seamless data flow and effective patient care. This course delves into the architecture, standards, and protocols that enable communication between various healthcare systems and devices. Topics include industry-standard messaging protocols, medical imaging communication, and the integration of diverse medical equipment. A significant focus is placed on the security implications and best practices for protecting interconnected medical devices and patient data. Through theoretical exploration and practical exercises, students will develop the skills necessary to design, implement, and manage secure and interoperable healthcare network solutions, addressing the unique challenges of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) and maintaining data integrity and privacy.
